The officer tells him that Burgess drank himself to an early grave. Elliot walks slowly through the field with his divining rods. He's looking for precious gems buried beneath the earth. But today, his mind is elsewhere. This morning he received a package from a contact in Moscow, a VHS tape of Kim Filby's funeral. "He'd ordered be it or juice. Fuck is this?" says Elliot.
