Do Hicky, a Word That Sounds Like a Ding Bat
Am hicky comes from two words that also meant that do dad and hicky. It's not totally clear how it came to mean like a ding bat, except that it seems to sort of sound like ding bat. A hicky meant the same thing that doDad and dingus ment, which is to say that we have a lot of words for thing that we have forgotten the word for.
