The Invasion of Cyprus

Cyprus wasn't invaded until the mid 70s. Much of the Turkish population were living in enclaves within Cyprus, gradually being disenfranchised essentially. For those 10 years, this little island was completely cut off and could only be resupplied by boat. So I thought, well, that's going to be a fascinating novel. And then of course, that led me to the invasion where there's a lot of documentation around the invasion. Why happened? How it happened?
