The Tuskegee Dilemma
A recent study by two economists found that the tuskegee revelation seriously diminished african americans participation in the health care system. They were simply less willing to go to a doctor or a hospital. With such a fraught history of inclusion andex sion in medical studies, who does end up in clinical trials? Also, how good are the new drugs that typically make it to market? I think if we're honest with ourselves, we'll have to admit that the majority of new cancer drugs offer sort of very small gains at tremendous prices.
