Lore
Howl's Coffin
After weeks of failing health, Griffith passed away and Howl found himself completely alone. With no burial, the body would be left exposed to the elements, leading to decomposition. The winter storms had other ideas though, and one night soon after moving the coffin outside, a great wave washed up and smashed the box to pieces. It was said that even when he was finally on the mainland and brought to the care of his family and friends, many of them failed to recognize him. Like an abandoned lighthouse, his flame had gone out.
