Doctors can prescribe these things off label if they see that as appropriate. There's this sort of weird regulatory framework where the active ingredient, semagletide, can be provided through what's known as compounding. If it shows a major benefit, it would really be the first time a large clinical trial has shown this. It will also dramatically open up coverage by the government and by other insurers of these medicines.
