The Role of Power Politics in the Realm of the Good Life

I think it is very easy to tell oneself the story of one's own righteousness as a nice and all sort of safety evolve while we play games that are as much for our own personal benefit as for the causes we claim to espouse. I do not want to rule it out or kind of go full-contian and say you know you cannot lie to the the murder is coming to your door looking for the person to kill but I'm very very wary of circumstances where this might be justifiable. People who have privileged access to their own motivations and their own desires might be able to circumvent the rules that the rest of us ostensibly live by because of their own sort of aristocracy of the soul
