When you take a very big number and multiply it by a tiny fraction, this is always the game that is being played by these long term calculations. You know, well, if there's a point o o one chance that humanity will go extinct, but there's huge damage if humanity goes extinct, right? That's the kind of calculation that is done. A same thing is true for everybody in quanta mechanics. When you talk about ridiculously unlikely branches of the wave function, people really focus on these ecause they don't like the implications. But don't focus on these really unlikely things. And in these calculations, i think that our uncertainties about those should be very large, and they
