General Danikin and the Volunteer Army
Russian general alexev died of heart failure in October, 1818. His political and military authority fell into the hands of general danikin. Danikin responded to this need for subtle delicacy by retreating into a lazer focus on strictly military concerns. He left politics to a few civilian hangers-on who did helpfully draft a constitution that played lip service to civil rights while giving unlimited power to general denikin.
