The Dangers of Fishing in the Bering Sea
Faced knew nothing about the weight of the pots or the extra bait, but he had seen the weather forecast. Heavy freezing spray from Dutch Harbor to all the way up to the Prabs is a fact of life for fishing vessels in the Bering Sea. The pot stack provides a large surface area for ice to accumulate, adding even more weight to the top of the boat.
