Building in Equity and Diversity in Research

According to a p research center survey, only five % of america's physicians and surgeons are black. In your role leading the office of scientific work force diversity at h you've seen a similar trend of under representation in medical and research fields. Ah, we know that when you want to do a clinical trial, ah, thepeople who get recruited into the clinical trials will tend to want to see someone who looks like themselves. And so if you don't have a diverse group of scientists who are designing and going out in doing the recruiting, you don’t have a ethnically diverse group of people who end up in the clinical trial.
