When I was a teenager, I knew exactly what I was going to do with my life and had a very linear track in mind. My academic background is in environmental science and astronomy. At one point, I was training to be an environmental scientist. And so I took a class in science writing and realized that science journalism seemed to actually satisfy my brand of science curiosity better than working as a scientist did.
