The Positives and Negatives of Immigration
If Australia was to have in 30 years time 25% more people living in it, well, it will anyway. To trouble about that, and this is population growth, it's a problem not where they come from. If you focus upon improving the technology and the material standards of the fixed population, you're going to be doing more innovation. And so we've been having to be spent in terms of holding a larger population. You do investment, but it's investment which is capital broadening, not capital deepening.
