There are no ideological or belief bounds on whether or not such a strategy or such tactics will be effective. The only legitimate policy is policy that is indifferent to who is deploying it. If the value of the policy you're advocating requires that you're the one administering and as soon as the enemy is administrating it, you're going to hate it, then you shouldn't want it.
