Black Magic and the Left Hand Path

In Western Esotericism, the Left Hand Path and Right Hand Path are the dichotomy between the two opposing approaches to magic. Some practitioners state that the desired outcome of the right is to be beside God and serve him, while the left believes in self-deification and to bow to no one. In modern times, some find that the definition of Black magic has been convoluted by people who define magic or ritualistic practices that they disapprove of as Black magic. The Magic art may be subdivided in many ways, by the ethical tone of intent, by moralistic qualities of the effects, into high and low, and so on.
