Is Human Catastrophe Good for Art?
i agree with you that there's something wrong about the idea that human catastrophe is good for art. But, ou know, i lived in ar east germany in the time of the berlin wall, and poets were heroese. They couldn't get their work published, but you would sit around in these illegal s et cetera, and it's really were keeping people alive. It doesn't surprise me that this is a land that values poetry like other a so it doesn't surprised me that poets were such important voices during the troubles.
