Omar's parents fled the soviets as refugees. He was born in pakistan and grew up an exile. Homar remembered seeing at the toremborde crossing the white flag of the taliban replaced by the tri color of no the king's time, the flag of the republic. And it filled him with hope. So he comes back from exile like so many other afghans,. and the he economy isn't, almost entirely based on aid. The good jobs are with the foreigners. But by the time we actually get going and get there, the borders slam shut again. And europeans have introduced a new round of border policies and strategies to block out refugees.
