Federal trust funds are scheduled to go under one by one. The highway trust fund, how we build and maintain highways, is financed through a gasoline tax. Medicare Hospital Insurance Fund will become insolvent in 2031. In the big one, social security becomes insolvent just 10 years from now in 2033.
