The Divide Over Slavery
Slavery was a real dividing line between both the revolutionaries who had to sort of finesse and paper over the disagreement over slavery. In the constitutional convention, among the framers, the reference to the slave trade in the original at of the declaration of independence had to be deleted out. The south carolina delegates threatened to walk out of the congress if it was not removed. And one could go on and on and on, as ihave said, with all the acrimonious conflicts that really repeatedly divided these so called founders.
