The pandemic exposed how dangerous this public charge rule was, and not just for immigrants who were now more afraid of using the health care system. Catalina sees the pandemic as a turning point for how we're viewing that labor, especially whois considered an ta worker. The narratives about immigrants that keep us as a cheap labor source that doesn't have rights are all part of a larger structure of racism, which is global and historic.
