The Importance of Roughness in the Art World
The mid century big names were gone. Once Jackson Pollock Lee Krasner were gone, the energy in the art world just dramatically dimmed. They breathed new life into the stodgy, stade, moneyed art world of the post abstract expressionist period of American art. There's a lot of us who just want to be smacked by artwork. I feel like good art gets a strong reaction, either positive or negative.
