How Did Your Research Interests Develop Over Time?

Am loe gonto peter: I started my phd with a proposal centered around using natural language and more formal language side information to improve learning of reinforcement learning agents. But along the way, i started just reading more generally about a broader area, as like one does in migus the first year of their piagty. And so i spent ly six months working on a project that was trying to do more like a compositional type of reasoning agent based on emergent communication games. This is super exciting. We've been thinking a lot about environment design recently, and your papers are all superrelevant. So we'd left to start with, how did you develop your initial research interests
