There was no guide-insert direction about how to treat patients with atria fibrillation that they could be treated with a rate control strategy or a rhythm control strategy, which might have some implications on some of the results from this paper. If you're very aggressive treating and fibrillation, you may prevent AF progression, although data supporting that is not widely available. We did not see any differences between rhythm control, drugs or ablations between the patients who developed a fibrillation progression over the years versus those without progression. So it seemed like the treatments did not have much of an impact.
