What Is Available to Parents With a New Baby?
Australian families have got 20 weeks of paper and to leave at the minimum wage that is available. One parent can take up to 18 weeks, and the other parent can take two weeks where there are two parents. Now, by 2026, families will have access to 26 weeks - which is obviously better. 60% of employers in Australia do offer additional paper and leave,. And that proportion of employers is growing. So hopefully, families will be able to access at a later stage some additional time funded by the government or both if they're not already.
