Jesuit Spiritual Exercises - What Are You Good At?
I grew up in the foothills of the Himalayas, and I was always kind of fascinated by questions of history and language. But at the same time, I wasn't quite sure if that was something I wanted to sort of study. And so there's a tradition in the Jesuit spiritual exercises where they ask these three key questions. What are you good at? What brings you joy? And who does the world need you to be? For me, teaching and studying the Hebrew Bible was what answered all three things. So that's how I began and I've never looked back.
