The uk. doesn't have a particularly big relationship with russia, but does get some natural gas from the country. So there isn't that considerable economic interest in s of the sanctions declared. The european union announced much more significant sanctions the us as well. There is a sense in which you don't want to deploy all your sanctions at once a because then where do you go? You want to leave yourself some room for for further action.
