The Seven Sages

Bias was born in Priani, a town north of Malitis in Ionia. He was renowned for his wisdom and flawless judgment. Even the philosopher Heraclitus referred to him as a man of more consideration than any. It is said that Bias wrote a poem of 2000 lines on the way to make Ionia prosperous but that work has not survived.
