The Importance of Pantoapers in Bleeding Patients
"I have a theory that I have never seen evidence for but I am going to propose it to you and you tell me what you think. If you have a patient who is truly massively bleeding and they have been on a BID PPI maybe they got 40 milligrams of Pantoapers all a couple hours ago," he said. "They are great for slowly healing ulcers up but they are not going to stabilize the clot of a massive perforated arterial." He continued: "So we agree that this person's blood levels of PPI are unstable and you need replete in some way".
