There's multiple signs of evidence that the Syrian Church had basically a biblical Unitarian Christology. Ephraim the Syrian is later in the 4th century, although he was educated in the Greco-Roman Empire. And then after the Nastorian controversy, which will get to which is in the 5th century, a whole bunch of bishops leave the Western Empire and move to Persia for safe refuge. Their theology comes to dominate the Persian Christianity or the Syriac Christianity. So I think sometime in the 400s, the Syriac Church gets a large influx of Greco- Roman Christologists who were Nastorian,. That's why the Church of the East was called Nast
