I grew up in a very repressed system with a control of information. My grandfather, who was a big influence in my life, his mother's father, he was always listening to foreign radio broadcasts. I realized fairly early on that I have this nose for quality. And even if the good is suppressed, I can see it. You're not just talking materialistic; you're talking about people and philosophies, everything.
