How to Get Rid of Racism in an AI System

Simon: Black box AI means no one can check the work. They've come through situations where they found that one AI, for example, that was sifting through resumes, preferred people named Jared that had played high school lacrosse. So if you're black, you're a resume zap. If you're Hispanic, you're resumeZap. And by, like, they don't know how, but the parameters it created said to get rid of race, we're just going to act like black people don't exist. But would the AI care about pollution in the environment? Who doesn't breathe? Yes.
