The Light Cavalry of the Middle Ages
The light cavalry went by many names. They might be chassers, a cheval in the french army, meaning mounted hunters. In the british and american armies, light dragoon was a common label. The famous cossack troops of the russian army are classified as light cavalry as well. By far the most famous sub branch of the light cavalry was the hussars.
