There was definitely a trade connection between the societies of the eastern United States as demonstrated by the excavated goods. The adenoculture appeared to be centered in and around the modern state of Ohio but we can't know for sure if there were tribal chiefs or monarchs at this time. A ceremonial road that connects the areas around the modern towns of Chile Cothi and Newark both in Ohio has also been found. This construction has been called the Great Hope World Road and although we may never know its exact purpose, experts continue to investigate for more clues about it. Experts have suggested that the road was constructed for the purpose of religious pilgrimages.
