The Murder of Maracela Escobaro

In October 2012, Chihuahua authorities announced that they had arrested Maracela Escobaro's killer. The man they named was 30-year-old lifelong gang member Jose Jimenez known as El Wicked. In an exclusive interview with Mexican news magazine Proceso, Juan expressed his opinion that El Wicked was merely a high-ranking cartel scapegoat whose arrest enabled the government to close his mother's case.
