Bill McCoy was a captain on the P&O steamer Olivet, docked in Havana at the time. He and his brother Ben built high-end yachts for people like Andrew Carnegie. By 1918, they were bringing tourists to their yachtyards across the country. In order to keep up with this, Florida starts building highways and down the coast.
