The Differential Care of Human Nature

A mensius is trying to cut right between those that it's not that we're fully selfish. It's that we have this differential care, as we talked about in the first half here. Maybe this differs from dallism in the sense that there's the emphasis on cultivation and propriety. But for the Confucius and Formencius, it seems like, well, actually, you're going to be doing these cultural, social, ritual things to get it in order.
