Preserving Faith and Language

This chapter examines the dedication of a teacher in southern Germany to preserving the Aramaic language and Syriac Orthodox faith among her students, many of whom are part of a diaspora community. Through classroom experiences, the narrative illustrates the deep cultural connections and the significance of maintaining their heritage amidst migration. It also reflects on the historical and contemporary challenges faced by the Syriac Orthodox community, emphasizing the importance of language in shaping their identity.
