From the 12 hundreds to 18 35, the tower of london also housed what was known as the royal menagerie. The collection grew to include a tiger, jackals, leopards and eagles. However, over time, people became more aware of the unsuitability of the surrounding for animals. A hundred and 50 animals were re housed to regent's park in 18 26,. creating what would become london zoo. All english coins were created or minted at the tower oflondon from the end of the thirteenth century up until 18 ten. And who is responsible for guarding them? The beef eaters, of course.
