Style is the bellwether of any established professional. Style can be imitated, but your style will only emerge after you've done lots and lots and lots of your own work. Take whatever amount of work that you think you are putting out there in the world and double it. Most people don't take a thousand or ten thousand photographs because they're trying to rationalize all this from the couch instead of by doing a lot of messy imperfect, but real work.
