I Think, Therefore I Exist, I Think Therefore I Am

Doubt is a form of thinking. And so there must be a thinker who is at it. So when he comes to the doubt about his own existence, that's proof that he existst. The very fact that he is doubting his own existence proves that there is himself a thinking thing. He goes on doubting and doubting until he finds something that can no longer be doubted. To doubt to doubt the proposition in question,. namely, his own existence is in effect, to affirm the proposition that he's trying to deny. This means that those sources of information which tell us about the outside world now are not entirely reliable.
