This is the perfect example of social engineering that is abusing a system that is easily abused because the way it's used is abusable. Apple reported a thousand emergency requests in a six month period, and they granted up 93% of them. Facebook received 20,000, 20 times that in a six months period in 2021. And they granted 73%. So that's a lot of requests. But I think there could potentially be extra compensated controls to prevent this kind of thing from happening again.
