Shenandoah was going through this incredible heat wave record breaking heat. A huge storm moves through on the Wednesday of their trip sort of halfway through their trip and it brings cold rainy weather. One thing that was actually helpful about the cold rainy weather is I think it did prevent a lot of scavenger activity. It didn't look as if scavengers had gone through and disturbed the crime scene but of course no one will ever really know.
