Lincoln's work address is 273 words. He wanted people to be able school children to learn to recite it by heart, which of course they did for generations up and through the Second World War. I sometimes think that he wanted this to be so short because he wanted it to be memorizable. Because he thought it was that important. We should linger on that from the moment.
