The government is doing a lot of thinking about how the central government works or doesn't and will be setting out our recommendations in the months ahead Ian tells us what he thinks the biggest problems are with number 10. He says it's really hard to run anything from in here because it's a 17th century townhouse. The crampedness of the space and its unsutability for modern government means that you develop thesereally quite strange working models, argues Ian.
