Zaren: This is a slight change of plans, a show about who we are and who we become in the face of a big change. They couldn't find any reputable gallerist who was going to buy this thing, right? So they initially tried to get money from the insurance company. However, negotiations fell apart pretty quickly and the money collection was never attempted. The painting probably would have been traded around among criminals.
