Can Amazon Take Responsibility for Dangerous Products?
The Consumer Product Safety Commission wants Amazon to take responsibility for dangerous products offered by third parties under the fulfilled by amazon programme. Products include 400 thousand hair dryers without required immersion protection, devices that could be an enormous electrocution risk. Numerous children's sleepwear products in violation of flammable fabric equals potentially kids on fire. Amazons initial response was to independently do what the c p s asked them to, but without collaborating with the cp s. They are now going a step farther though.
