What Are PFAS?
Per and poly fluorinated alkalapuses are manmade chemicals that have been in production a long time. When we talk about them, what we're really referring to is any chemicals that's got a carbon chain as it's backbone with a bunch of fluorine molecules around it. So PFAS is not one thing. It's not one molecule. It's up to potentially 5,000 different molecules. And the reason why they are all classed together or all like of interest right now is because their basic structure imparts interesting properties.
