Xenophon's Quest for a City

The leaders have been trying to keep this chaos and disorder at bay. They just had their case made by this disastrous splitting up of the fellowship. And so the place that they end up reuniting the army is called Calpi. It's a nice spot, but there's not a city there. There's no settlement. The men took up quarters on the beach by the sea, refusing to encamp on the spot which might become a city. Indeed, the fact of their coming to this place at all seemed to them the result of scheming on the part of some people who wished to found a city.
