Is There a Paradoxical Relationship Between Faith and God?
I feel like there's some sort of two by two lurking in the background of this discussion, which maybe I'll think about afterwards and draw it out. Like basically you can't perceive anything unless you make critical assumptions about its form. But a sincere religious person doesn't do that, right? Since you're a religious person is like, no, God is real. And God wants these things for me and isn't interacting with their idea of God as an idea. It could still just be the ideas in their head and God might not be real. There's something very important about doubt in Christianity as I understand it.
