The Age of Last Birth in Women in the Early Forties
The term gerriatric is applied to women who are 35 and older. It still seems to suggest that there's something abnormal about having a pregnancy at five or older, which is not really true if you look at the historical record. Some demographers went back and looked at the age of last birth in women in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. And so it was very normal for women to be having their last birth the early forties.
